MicroStrategy – New Simplified Packaging & Prices – July 2014

MicroStrategy heard its clients – thats great!

On July 8th 2014 MicroStrategy announced a simplified packing and pricing model, current analytics & mobile products are simplified from 21 products to 4 products. The four new products are – Server, Architect, Web & Mobile.

Here is how previous 21 products rolled up to 4 –

New product “Server” is a rollup of the following old products:

1. Intelligence Server
2. Intelligence Server – Universal Option
3. Multisource
4. Report Services
5. OLAP Services
6. Transaction Services
7. Distribution Services
8. Narrowcast Server
9. Enterprise Manager
10. Command Manager
11. System Manager

New product “Architect” is a rollup of the following old products:

1. Developer
2. Architect
3. Object Manager
4. Integrity Manager

New product “Web” is a rollup of the following old products:

1. Web Reporter
2. Web-Universal Option
3. Web Analyst
4. Web Professional
5. Office

New product “Mobile” is a rollup of the following old products:

1. MicroStrategy Mobile

Existing maintenance-paying clients are eligible to take advantage of the new packaging model. Customers on MicroStrategy 9.3.0 or higher are not required to upgrade, they just need to apply a new license key to the current environment. Customers operating on versions older than 9.3.0 are required to upgrade to 9.3.0 or higher before they can apply the new license key.
