MicroStrategy Developer
Perform analysis, document reporting requirements, and identify possible reporting solutions based on direction from product management group. Be part of a highly motivated team of engineers working on implementation of next generation of Data Analytics and Business Intelligence platform. Ideal candidate should have a positive can-do attitude that is not always satisfied with the status-quo and has the drive and the ability to take self, team and the product to the corresponding next levels of quality and success on a relentless basis will be a good fit for this position and team.
Specific responsibilities include:
• Participating in all aspects of data warehouse/analytical projects—including conceptualization, design, construction, testing, selection, deployment, and post-implementation support
• Develop MicroStrategy project, design system and reports
• Coordinate and deploy MicroStrategy changes to the Production
• Refine reporting business requirements.
• Develop MicroStrategy Project
• Refine reporting business requirements.
• Create necessary objects to meet report requirements.
• Create and maintain attributes, metrics, filters, prompts
• Perform quality assurance for all reports.
• Develop and implement SQL Scripts to fix data errors
• Problem solving and troubleshooting.
• Coordinate and deploy MicroStrategy changes to the Production
• Providing 3rd level support for technical issues and troubleshooting report design.
• Write business/technical specifications, test scripts, and other documentation.
• Explore and recommend emerging technologies and techniques to support/enhance the Data Warehouse (Business Intelligence, Push Technologies, Real-time reporting, Corporate Performance Monitoring [CPM]).
Preferred background and technical skills:
• 5+ years of experience in the requirements, analysis, design, code, and test phases of consulting engagements
• 5 + Years of experience taking requirements and building a BI solution using the MicroStrategy 8 BI platform
• Extensive hands on experience architecting a MicroStrategy project and building reports and dashboards
• Experience installing, configuring and administering MicroStrategy environments
• Knowledge of MicroStrategy Narrowcast Server and Office
• Experience with MicroStrategy customizations is a plus
• Proficient in understanding of advanced report development and design as well as Intelligence Server configuration settings for performance tuning
• Experience in administration of MicroStrategy Web and Intelligence servers across multiple environments
• Experience in supporting multiple business customers and multiple MicroStrategy projects.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Understanding and expertise in data structure, algorithm, operating system and other fundamental Computer Science concepts.
• Strong analytical skills and problem solving skills
• Must have a strong ability and desire to assimilate and apply knowledge as well as to spread acquired knowledge and experience to other team members
• Good communication skills
• Team-oriented individual
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
